we did it!

Greetings from the sands of Jamaica!

I know, I know…I am a bit behind in blogging, like WAY behind. I have to say the last month or so was much more hectic than I expected. Prepping for the wedding & traveling to Jamaica, then add work to the mix and it was a crazy time for me and just about everything that wasn’t critical seemed to slip off my to-do list.

I have to say the trip was all we could have hoped for and more…it was truly the experience of a lifetime and something we will never forget. We keep talking about moments, looking at pictures and just smiling…it was such a special trip. Having so many friends and family there with us, for a week, in Jamaica — that is what made the entire trip & the wedding special. We learned that we really loved being with everyone — meeting for breakfast, hanging by the pool, walking the beach, lounging at the swim-up bar, meeting for pre-dinner drinks, going to dinner and even sometimes heading to the discothèque (or biblioteca – as Ree-Lo referred to it!). There are so many memories, I can’t even begin to describe them all…needless to say, we have been and will continue to cherish each and every one of them.

The other thing that Joe & I are both staggered by, is the feeling that there is no way for us to adequately express thanks to everyone that made the long trip (often chaotic & grueling) to Jamaica…for us!?! We are humbled, blessed and amazed by what you all have done. No pictures, no words, no thank you card — will ever be able to come close to really telling you all how much it means to us both. At one point, Joe and I were both tearing up during the ceremony…much of it due to the fact that we were saying such important vows, the other because we looked out and saw all the people there with us. THANK YOU!!

We started to look through all the pictures that everyone took (since I took 3 whole pictures the whole week!) and I get overwhelmed…feeling so happy & blessed, plus a bit sad that it is all over. Well, maybe not sad the wedding is over…I am glad to be done with the planning, but sad the trip is over – that is for sure!

Stay tuned — I am going to be updating the blog over the next few weeks with a lot of the DIY that I did for the wedding – invitations, programs, signage, candy favors, napkin rings, etc – and my Etsy treasures and other finds!

In the meantime, here are a couple (maybe more than a couple – but I am sifting through over 500 right now!) of my favs from the wedding pics so far…

And for a sneak peek at our professional photos, check out our photographer’s blog – Christiana Childer’s Photography. She is amazing and her work is absolutely beautiful…it is the first picture on this page and we were so thrilled to have found her and that she could capture our special time in Jamaica. 🙂
